PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain cationically photopolymerizable silica fine particles, to provide their production and to obtain a cationically photocurable resin component useful as a hard coating agent. ;SOLUTION: The cationically/photopolymerizable silica fine particles comprise an oxetanyl group-containing organic functional group chemically bonded to the surface of particles and are produced by reacting a silane compound of the formula; R0Si (OR3)3 (R0 is an oxetanyl group-containing organic functional group; R3 is an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group or an aryl group) with silica fine particles. This cationically photocurable resin composition comprises cationicals photopolymerizable silica fine particles (a), a photopolymerizable compound (b) except the component (a) and a cationic photopolymerization initiator (c).
