ANALYSIS OF HYDROSPHERIC PLANKTON-/MICROORGANISM-PRODUCING TOXIN, AND ANALYZER THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and analyzer for rapidly and easily analyzing the concentration of a protein phosphatase activity inhibitory toxin produced by hydrospheric plankton or microorganisms. ;SOLUTION: This analytical method comprises as follows: hydrospheric plankton/microorganisms capable of producing a protein phosphates activity- inhibitory toxin is heated in a heating tank 1 to extract the toxin which is then reserved in a reservoir 4. Thereafter, the toxin is mixed with a p- nitrophenylphosphate salt in a reservoir 5, and the mixture is fed into a cell 6 containing protein phosphatase to carry out a reaction; the absorbance of the reaction system containing the resultant p-nitrophenol is measured by an absorptiometer D; from the measurement, the concentration of the extracted toxin is read using a calibration curve prepared in advance to effect the objective analysis.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
