METHOD FOR PREVENTING ELUTION OF ALKALI IN CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVED SOIL BANKING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which allows easy construction work in the construction of improved soil banking, as a layer of soil laid for preventing elution of alkaline seepage water from the improved soil banking to a foundation ground can be thinned and slip on the soil laid can be prevented. SOLUTION: (A) A honeycomb-shaped holding sheet 2 in which a number of cell-like spaces 2a are defined is laid over the surface of a foundation 1. (B) Next, viscous soil 4 comprising bentonite in power form or viscous soil is spread from over the holding sheet 2 and is laid flat to pack it almost uniformly into the cell-like spaces 2a in the holding sheet 2, and (C) water is sprinkled to consolidate it to make it claylike with an appropriate water content. (D) Next, improved soil banking 5 is constructed, and a cover soil layer 6 made of soil of good quality, which serves as a planting foundation for turf or the like, is formed on the face of slope and upper surface of the banking 5.
