PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent trouble from occurring because the fixing of a scanning unit is not released before use by providing a seal member coupled with a lock pin fixing the scanning unit and laid over an original cover. SOLUTION: In this image forming device, a 1st scanning unit and a scanning unit are fixed by a lock pin 17 and a lock pin 18 so as not to move in the midst of transportation until the image forming device is delivered to a user. The lock pins 17 and 18 are coupled through a wire 19 being the seal member laid over an original cover 16 so that the user may be prevented from forgetting to detach the lock pins 17 and 18 before using the image forming device. Before using the image forming device, the user detaches the wire 19 and the lock pins 17 and 18 so as to release the fixing of the 1st and the 2nd scanning units. Therefore, the user is prevented from using the image forming device without detaching the lock pins 17 and 18 by coupling the lock pins 17 and 18 through the wire 19 and laying the wire 19 over the original cover 16.
