The method of joining the central part of the composite structure of the leading vehicle of the Shinkansen

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To couple together the composite body structure pieces of a bullet train leading car divided in symmetry along the longitudinal centerline thereof airtigintly at higher rigidity and strength with ease. SOLUTION: A composite body structure piece is thickened at its division portion and is flatted at its vertical division face 12. The body structure piece is formed with a multitude of recessions 13 spaced evenly at its positions inside the division face 12 longitudinally. One division face 12 is confronted with another, in which state tension bolts 16 are inserted from the recessions 13 horizontally through tire division portions. The clearance gap between the confronted division faces 12 is then filled with adhesive 15, in which state the bolts 16 are screwed to couple the division faces 12 together.
