PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sintered body having a high Young's modulus and low specific gravity and capable of thinning, miniaturizing and lightening in the case of being applied to structural parts such as automotive parts and to provide powder for the sintered body. ;SOLUTION: The compsn. of powder is regulated to the one of, by weight, 15.0 to 40.0% Ti, 3.0 to 11.0% C, and the balance substantial Fe, which is subjected to sintering. If required, the powder compsn. is regulated to the one contg. ≤2.0% Si and ≤2.0% Mn. Furthermore, at the time of obtaining the powder having the above compsn., molten metal having a compsn. in which the content of C is temporarily regulated to ≤1.0% is powdered, and the powder is added with graphite powder so as to regulate the content of C to 3.0 to 11.0% to form into powder having a final compsn.
