PURPOSE:To shorten the time required for switching a task by converting a physical address which CPU has into an extension address in a memory management unit and permitting a memory to store the extension address longer than the physical address. CONSTITUTION:CPUS 101 has the physical address S109 in a certain length and the memory management unit S103 converts the physical address S109 into the extension address S110. The memory 102 stores the extension address S110 longer than the physical address S109. When the task is switched and the task which is to be executed next is dispatched, the memory management unit S103 converts the physical address S109 into the extension address S110 to the memory 102 from CPUS 101. When a page register is set in a register bank S107, task switching becomes register block switching and time required for switching the task can be shortened.
