PURPOSE: To provide the method and device for plotting polygon capable of speedily plotting polygons in succession without separating it into triangles. ;CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a polygon vertex register 105 temporarily storing the polygon vertex data in advance, vertex control device 101 performing control for storing the polygon vertex data, start point register 110 temporarily storing polygon vertex data by deciding the data to be the plotting start vertex, contour generating device 106 controlling sequentially the order of generating the contour of the polygon, vertex address up counter 103 outputting the next polygon vertex data in the clockwise direction of the contour of the polygon, vertex address down counter 104 outputting the next polygon vertex data in the counterclockwise direction thereof, interpolation device 102 interpolating the clockwise and counterclockwise contour straight lines of the polygon respectively, straight line plotting means 107 for plotting the polygon interpolation span taking the end points of the right and left contour straight lines as line segment.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
