PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To copy an image data recorded in a video CD into a DVD(digital versatile disc)-RAM. ;SOLUTION: When data in a VCD(video CD) is copied into a DVD-RAM, the first VCD sector data n0 of 2352 bytes is divided into 2048 bytes and the remaining 304 bytes and the data of the 2048 bytes is recorded into the user data area UD0 of a first 1 DVD-RAM sector m0 and the data of the remaining 304 bytes is recorded into a user data area UD1 of a second DVD-RAM sector m1. The second VCD sector data n1 is recorded starting with the 305 bytes of the user data area UD1 of the second DVD-RAM sector m1. Likewise, subsequently, the VCD sector data (n) is divided to match the user data area UD of the 2048 bytes of the DVD-RAM sector (m) to be distributed to the user data area UD for recording.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
