PURPOSE:To improve backup strength of a foam resin pattern and to easily cast a casting having excellent accurate dimension by adding the specific rate of binder and glass fiber to refractoriness fine powder as facing material. CONSTITUTION:The facing material is composed of mixed solution containing the refractoriness fine powder, binder and glass fiber as the essential component and obtd. by adding 5 - 30 wt parts the binder and 3 - 10 wt parts the glass fiber per 100 wt parts the refractoriness fine powder. In this mixed solution, one or more kinds of thickener, defoaming agent and surface active agent are incorporated, and by mixing water or alcohol, slurry facing material is prepared. By dipping the form resin pattern into the facing material or by brushing the facing material on the form resin pattern, the coating layer is formed.
