PURPOSE: To prevent the displacement between the central point of an oblique protruding spherical surface and the optical axial point of an optical fiber. ;CONSTITUTION: The end face of an assembly consisting of an optical fiber (s) and a ferrule (f) is polished to have oblique conical fiber (s) and a ferrule (f) is polished to have oblique to the optical axis L of the optical fiber (s), the optical axis L of the optical fiber (s) being conformed to a top Ft, and also having a taper angle of 2°. Thereafter, the end face of the assembly of the optical fiber (s) and the ferrule (f) is polished into an oblique protruding spherical surface having a central axis inclined by 8° to the optical axis L of the optical fiber (s).
