POWER CABLE OUTER SEMICONDUCTOR LAYER EDGE CUTTING METHOD AND SHEATH EDGE CUT PART OF THE POWER CABLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power cable edge cutting method which enables short edge cutting and a power cable sheath edge cut part, which can be easily formed with the use of the method. ;SOLUTION: The sheath edge cut part of a long rubber/plastic insulated power cable has a metal sheath 2, a shielding layer 3, and a cable outer semiconductor layer 4 whose respective predetermined lengths are removed. The cut edge of the cable outer semiconductor layer 4 is connected to a slender semiconductive tape 20, which has an insulating covering and is coiled. Then the sheath edge cut part is subjected to heat treatment to have the cable outer semiconductor layer 4, the semiconductive tape layer 20, and a cable insulation 10 integrate with each other. Furthermore, a lead wire 9 is connected to the cut edge of the metal sheath 2 and then drawn out.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
