PURPOSE: To provide a method and a device for generating a subpixel mask. ;CONSTITUTION: This method is provided with a stage for directly generating the subpixel mask of a polygon edge through arithmetic, without using look-up tables and forming a sub-block by dividing the pixel into (n) pieces of sub-blocks according to gradient, stage for calculating a sub-block coverage 22 as a distance from the border lines of pixels and the intersections of (n) pieces of sub- blocks and the polygon edge, and stage for generating (n)×(n) pieces of subpixel masks through the calculated sub-block coverage 22.
