PURPOSE:To obtain the accurate isothermal lines for adsorption and desorption of a solid-state sample by reading the flow rate of a gas which is sent into a sample container wherein the solid-state sample is introduced and into a gas holder based on the pressure change in the gas holder, and computing the quantities of the adsorption and the desorption of the gas in the solid-state sample at each time point. CONSTITUTION:For example, when the quantity of adsorption of a solid-state sample is measured, an intended sample is contained in a sample container 10, and a gas is introduced into a gas holder 12 and stored. The gas is made to flow out of the gas holder 12 and inputted into the container 10 through a mass-flow controller 11 in an operating state. The pressure in the gas holder 12 and the pressure in the container 10 are measured with pressure gages 16 and 14, respectively. The discharged mass Qc of the gas which is discharged into the container 10 from the gas holder 12 is accurately computed all the time at an arbitrary time (t) based on the pressure value in the gas holder 12 by the specified expression. The adsorption quantity Qs of the sample is computed based on the mass Qc, the pressure value in the container 10 obtained with the pressure gage 14 and the like.
