Selenium separation material and method for selective separation and recovery of selenium using the same

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a selenium separating material for separating and recovering selenium (VI) from other metals and semimetals with high selectivity and to furnish the method for efficiently separating and recovering selenium (VI) by using the material. SOLUTION: This selenium separating material consists of a polyethyleneimine-addition chitosan or styrenic resin. The separating material is brought into contact with an aq. soln. contg. selenium (VI) and other metals and semimetals in an acidic condition to adsorb the selenium (VI) on the material, the soln. is alkalinized to desorb the selenium (VI), and the selenium is selectively separated and recovered.
