PURPOSE: To obtain the subject agent excellent in weathering resistance, adhesion, abrasion resistance, etc., by combining a specified primer with a specified silicon alkoxide coating agent. ;CONSTITUTION: A copolymer obtained by copolymerizing 99.5-75mol.% ethylenically unsaturated monomer (e.g. methyl acrylate) with an unsaturated silicon compound of formula I (wherein R¹ is a monovalent vinyl hydrocarbon group; R² is 1-10 C monovalent hydrocarbon group; X is 1-4C alkoxyl, 2-6 C alkoxyalkoxyl or 2-4 C oxime; and (m) is 1-3) (e.g. vinyltrimethoxysilane) is dissolved in an organic solvent to obtain a primer. This primer is combined with a silicon alkoxide coating agent based on a silicon compound (hydrolyzate) of formula II (wherein R³ is methyl or ethyl; R⁴ is 1-4 C alkyl; and (n) is 0, 1 or 2).;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
