PURPOSE:To excellently pulverize even the coal easy to slide on the roller by forming the rolling periphery of the crushing roller in the cross section at right angles to its rotating shaft into a polygon consisting of straight sides and providing a groove-shaped gap between the sides. CONSTITUTION:A rotary table 3 is rotated in the horizontal plane with its vertical shaft as the center at the lower part of a vertical cylindrical housing 21. A crushing race 7 is cut on the upper surface of a crushing ring 6 provided on the periphery of the upper surface of the table 3. Plural crushing rollers 8 are pressed on the race 7 and rolled. Coal to be crushed is supplied on the table 3 from a raw material feeder 2. The rolling periphery in the cross section at right angles to the rotating shaft 10 of the roller 8 is formed into a polygon consisting of straight sides 8a, and a groove-shaped gap 8b is formed between the sides 8a. Consequently, even the raw coal easy to slide on the roller is excellently crushed, and the grain size of the pulverized coal as the product is improved.
