(i) A method for the immunoassay of the propeptide of osteocalcin present in a specimen by the sandwich method, wherein an antibody which specifically recognizes said propeptide is used as an antibody (first antibody) combined with an insoluble carrier and a labelled antibody (second antibody), and a kit therefor; (ii) a method for the immunoassay of proosteocalcin present in a specimen by the sandwich method, wherein one of an antibody (first antibody) combined with an insoluble carrier and a labelled antibody (second antibody) is an antibody which specifically recognizes the propeptide of osteocalcin, while the other is an antibody which specifically recognizes osteocalcin, and a kit therefor; and (iii) a method for the immunoassay of the total content of the propeptide of osteocalcin and proosteocalcin in a specimen by the competitive method, wherein an antibody which specifically recognizes the propeptide of osteocalcin is used as an antibody which combines with an insoluble carrier or which can be insolubilized.
