PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely set a pullout width by partially separating vines in a boundary part of the pullout width and partially cutting the separated vines when setting the pullout width in a sweet potato pullout machine. ;SOLUTION: This vine separator of a sweet potato pullout machine is capable of separating vines at an outer end of a prescribed width of vines of sweet potatoes thickly growing on the ground with the vine separator 26, cutting the separated vines with a cutter 28 and setting the interior of a prescribed width at the pullout width and traveling while pulling out the vines in the pullout width and discharging the pulled out vines. In this case, the vine separator 26 comprises a vine separating rod 36 extended from the cutter 28 in the upper layer of the vines located at the outer end of the pullout width to the upper front and thrusting out the tip thereof from the vines and a vine separating rod 38 extended from the cutter in the lower layer to the lower front.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
