PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make ice crystal grains in a suspension liquid large and spherical and to miniaturize the whole freezing and concentrating system. SOLUTION: An aq. soln. is cooled by a cooling cylinder 22 as a cooling heat exchanger to continuously produce a suspension liquid containing ice crystal grains. A liquid component is separated and discharge from the suspension liquid to obtain the high density state of the ice crystal grains and to make the ice crystal grains grow to produce a pillar ice grain aggregate. Then the ice grain aggregate is cut into ice pillars of specified length and the concentrated soln. is drained from the ice pillar.
