PURPOSE: To constantly and precisely grasp a combustion state by previously examining a correlation between temperature of a flame holder to hold premixed flame and a combustion state of premixed gas and grasping the combustion state relative to the measured temperature of the flame holder from the correlation. ;CONSTITUTION: A combustor 10 is furnished with a primary combustion cylinder 13 forming a primary combustion chamber 12 inside of a combustor casing 11 and a secondary combustion cylinder 22 arranged on the downstream side of the primary combustion cylinder 13 and forming a secondary combustion chamber 21. Additionally, at least a premixed burner 23 to inject premixed gas into the secondary combustion chamber 21 and a flame holder 30 to hold premixed flame 29 due to combustion of the premixed gas are furnished. In this case, correlation between temperature of the flame holder 23 and a combustion state of the premixed gas is previously examined. Thereafter, the temperature of the flame holder 30 is measured, for example, by a thermocouple 35.
