PURPOSE:To make a moving-adaptive type luminance/color separation circuit operate in the through mode for a luminance/color separated output from an S-VHS, etc., and to prevent deterioration in signals caused by luminance/color separation processing by providing said circuit with a color signal input terminal to which a color signal constituting a composite color video signal is supplied singly. CONSTITUTION:The luminance/color separation circuit 12 is provided with the color signal input terminal 13 to which a color signal constituting a composite color video signal is supplied singly. When the separated input mode in which a luminance signal and a color signal are inputted separately is selected, a color signal, after undergoing a low-pass filter circuit 14 and a clamping circuit 15, is converted to a digital signal by an A/D converter 16, and impressed to the color signal input terminal 13 via a line delay circuit 17. A luminance signal that passes, when inputted separately, through the same signal route as that of a composite color video signal, is impressed to a luminance signal input terminal 19 for through signal via a branch line 18 that branches from between two lines delay circuits 6 in cascade connection, and transmitted to the circuit 12 in the following stage without being subjected to any separation processing similarly to a color signal.
