PURPOSE: To obtain an aqueous paint composition having excellent storage stability, appearance and coating film properties and suitable for metallic finish coating, etc., by dispersing and mixing a specific micaceous pigment composition and a water paint. ;CONSTITUTION: This aqueous composition is produced by uniformly dispersing and mixing (A) a micaceous pigment composition produced by uniformly mixing (i) a micaceous pigment consisting of mica flakes or metal oxide-coated mica flakes having a surface acid content of 0-10μ mol/g, a surface base content of 0-30μ mol/g and a heat of wetting with water of 0-1.5J/g, (ii) a melamine resin having one or more triazine rings in one molecule and optionally (iii) an organic solvent in (B) a water paint containing a water-soluble or water- dispersible film-forming polymer selected from acrylic resin, polyester resin, alkyd resin and polyurethane resin, a crosslinking agent and other optional additives such as pigment, thickener and filler.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
