PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable automatic mass production without causing crack or the like at an edge portion even in the ease where a composite material of metal group is used, by performing metal packing and rolling of a thick plate made of a composite material including ceramics and metal, or rolling in a fourdirection constraint state without metal packing. ;SOLUTION: A composite material 3a of aluminum group formed by mixing silicon carbide particles with aluminum is packed in a soft iron 8. A packed body 9 is heated and a roll 4 is heated to roll the pack, thereby providing a thin plate 11. Then, the thin plate 11 from which the soft iron 8 is separated is heated and adjusted in temperature, and a roll 6 is heated to perform rolling. If necessary, annealing 36 is performed to heat the thin plate 11 and the thin plate 11 is rolled by a roll 6b, thereby providing a very thin plate 7. After the very thin plate 7 is rolled by a finishing roll 6a, the very thin plate 7 is cut to provide a heat sink thin plate 10.
