PURPOSE:To enable introduction of a sample in a short time with a simple construction by a method wherein an introduction pipe for sample dilution is provided and a dilution liquid is supplied from behind a sample to introduce a sample part in a specified zone having a gradient of concentration of the sample associated with a flow into an analysis section. CONSTITUTION:An introduction pipe 23 for sample dilution is provided which forms a field of diluting samples with a specified length and capacity between an injection port 6 and a sample introduction valve 18. The introduction pipe 23 is filled with a dilution liquid beforehand. When a sample is injected at the injection port 6 and subsequently the dilution liquid is injected, the sample is dispersed in the dilution liquid while the sample flows through the introduction pipe 23 and distributed with a concentration gradient formed in a flow thereof. A specified zone having this concentration gradient is measured with a measuring tube 20 of the same introduction valve 18 and introduced into the analysis section to perform a microscopic sampling at a desired dilution ratio. This eliminates the need for arranging an exclusive dilution tank thereby enabling the introduction of the sample in a short time with a simple construction.
