PURPOSE: To prevent a trolling engine from being damaged by changing the length of a bracket according to the force applied thereto, and moving the bracket relative to a base when an engine mounted on the bracket hits an object. ;CONSTITUTION: If a trolling engine assembly hits an object under a water surface, kinetic energy occurs, most of the impact of which is absorbed in an assembled device A. When clutch friction forces between a channel 2 and a shim 6 and between a channel 8 and a shim 6 are overcome, a clutch assembly is released (or slides). The clutch channel 8 slides on the shim 6 forwardly through a narrow string-shaped slot 10 to extend the upper member of a mounting part 13 in the forward direction.
