PURPOSE: To obtain a flexible drive shaft device high in torsional rigidity and low in flexible rigidity in the shaft direction. ;CONSTITUTION: The system is provided with a drive shaft, device for engaging with a magnetic tape cassette, and a pair of flexible diaphragms 54, 56. One device is connected with one end 60 of the drive shaft and with one of the flexible diaphragms 54, 56, and can be connected with a motor so that a torque may be transmitted from the motor to the drive shaft through the flexible diaphragm. The other device is connected to the other end 62 of the drive shaft, the other flexible diaphragm 56 and a tape cassette engaging device, so that a torque may be transmitted from the drive shaft to the engaging device through the other flexible diaphragm 56.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
