PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preventive fence which is generally laid out along a walkway slightly near a carriageway and laid out intersecting with the carriageway at right angles during earthquake or the like and capable of preventing the approaching of a car running on the carriageway. ;SOLUTION: A vehicle approaching preventive fence 1 is generally laid out along a walkway A on the side of a carriageway B of a road comprising the walkway A and the carriageway B holding a low offset area which sandwiches the walkway A. When a disaster, such as an earthquake broke out, a movable post 3 is turningly moved so that it may cross the carriageway at right angles, centering on a stationary post, thereby adjusting the length of the leg of the movable post 3 and adapting with the offset area between the walkway A and the carriageway B. In the case where there is no offset area, this construction makes it possible to eliminate the need for the adjustment and contrive to prevent the approaching of vehicles promptly and accurately.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
