A composition for dispersion of dispersed rosin, comprising rosin stabilized by a cationic colloidal coacervate dispersing agent, the coacervating dispersing agent comprising an anionic component and a cationic component, the anionic and cationic components being present in a portion such that the composition for sizing it has a zeta potential of at least about 20 millivolts. In addition, methods for the production and use of the stable composition for rosin sizing are revealed, as well as paper made using the sizing composition.
