Water desalination unit using reverse osmosis in suspended piston pressurized chambers, and piston position monotoring system

Comprises two mother cylindrical tubes or supply chambers which are alternatively pressurised by means of osmosis membrane, said chambers or cylinders being connected, at one end, to the membrane inlet and, at the other end, to the brine outlet. The energy saving involved in this reverse osmosis system consists in that, by membrane being pressurized in the mother chamber on both sides, and at high pressure, little energy is required for the circulation of the water. Each chamber or cylinder is fitted with floating piston between the brine and the water to be desalinated, and is provided with magnets which indicate its position through sensors installed outside the chambers, thus allowing the amount of offset water to be controlled for the purposeof implementing chamber changes. Additionally, prior pressurization is foreseen in each cycle.
