Depositing of ashes from thermal power plants is carried out in repeated exchange cycles in such a fashion that during filling up at least one empty sedimentation tank (1) with liquid mixture of ashes and water in a ratio 1 : to 3 to 20 the solidified ashes mass (SAM) is being mined with ration 1 : 1 or less from at least one full sedimentation tank (1) after that the SAM is deposited in a mud settling pond (2). During this process the circulated water is collected under control. The ecological mud settling pond of MAS from thermal power plants consists from at least 2 sedimentation tanks (1) impermeably (water-proof) isolated from each other and a common mud settling pond (2) separated from each other by dividing levees (3) and culverts (4). Into the sedimentation tanks (1) the inflow conduits (7) are constructed whereas the outflow conduits (5) are collecting the accumulated water. The common mud settling pond (2) is divided into 2 parts by communication dam (6). Finally the sedimentation ponds (1) are impermeably isolated by polyethylene foil (8) or by some other suitable material (geotextile).
