Speed restriction system for cars which operates when seat-belt is not being worn

Device for restricting speed of a motor vehicle, especially a car uses a counter-force (8) applied to the accelerator pedal in order to make the vehicle very difficult to drive. This counter-force is applied when car is moving if seat-belts are detected as not being worn. A similar device which uncouples cruise control is also claimed. Preferably the counter-force makes the accelerator pedal (9) hard to depress. A time relay (11) is used for applying delayed counter-force.
