The present invention relates to a cleaning device (4) for a nuclear power plant for cleaning of water which is contaminated by radioactive particles and/or radioactive ions. The cleaning device comprises a filtering member arranged in a container (5). A pump means is arranged connected to the cleaning device for circulation of water therethrough. The container (5) is made as a substantially straight cylinder which is sealed at both ends and which exhibits an outer geometry which corresponds to the outer shape of a fuel assembly intended for the nuclear power plant in question.
