The seal (5) between a motor (3) and its housing (4) has an approximately Z-shaped transition region (8) between the section lying against the housing and that lying against the motor, the transition region being one-piece. The sections lying against the housing and the motor have rib-like projections on the outside which mate with corresponding ribs on the abutting surfaces. The projections are in the axial direction. The seal has two sealing sections, a longitudinal section to seal between the side walls of the motor and the housing plus a transverse section to seal between their end walls. The transverse section lies against ribs on the motor and housing which are concentric with the motor axis.
