The motor has a crankcase (7) with a rotor and a stator, and a ventilator (6) mounted at a motor shaft for cooling the motor, where the cooling air partially flows outside the crankcase. A helical-shaped distribution of the cooling air is formed using a guiding unit (50). A radial air outlet is formed in a retainer housing (32) with respect to the motor shaft, and a sound absorbing material (61) is provided in the retainer housing, where the sound absorbing material is penetratable by the discharging air. The guiding unit is made of a flexible plastic material e.g. polyvinylchloride.
