REVERSIBLE ELECTROCHEMICAL CELLS FROM ORGANIC-INORGANIC HYBRID ELECTRODES FORMED BY A CONDUCTIVE ORGANIC POLYMER AND AN ACTIVE INORGANIC SPECIES. THE PRESENT INVENTION DESCRIBES ELECTROCHEMICAL CELLS SOME OF WHOSE ELECTRODES ARE AN ORGANIC-INORGANIC HYBRID ADDICT. SUCH CELLS ARE FORMED BY A METALLIC LITHIUM ANODE OR A LITHIUM INSERTION ANODE, AN ELECTROLYTE AND A HYBRID CATODE. THESE HYBRID ELECTRODES ARE CONSTITUTED BY AN ELECTRONIC CONDUCTIVE TYPE POLYMERIC MATRIX DOPED WITH INORGANIC COMPOUNDS WITH OXIDATION-REDUCTION CAPACITY; THE ADDUCT PRESENTS THE GOOD CONDUCTIVITY AND PROCESSABILITY OF THE POLYMER AND THE REDOX AND REVERSIBILITY PROPERTIES OF THE INORGANIC COMPONENT. A VARIETY OF SUCH CELLS USES TWO DIFFERENT HYBRID ELECTRODES, WHICH AVOID THE USE OF A LITHIUM METAL ANODE. APPLICATIONS: ENERGY EFFICIENT STORAGE. BATTERIES FOR ELECTRIC TRACTION OF VEHICLES AND SUPPLY OF APPLIANCES. CATALYSTS, ELECTROCATALYSIS. SENSORS.
