Carbon fibre sheet base for making and restoring mural paintings. The invention concerns a new support base for restoring and making mural paintings and for painting on an easel based on a monolithic laminate of advanced composite materials: a flat fabric, reinforced with high strength carbon fibre, pre-impregnated with an epoxy-type matrix that polymerises at high temperature. The manufacturing process is implemented by overlaying layers with final curing by heat and pressure. The field of application is artistic, both for the production and restoration of works of art. The base offers significant benefits which are that: -it avoids critical adhesion points and problems that could be encountered with a sandwich in humid conditions, -it is possible to obtain the rigidity required for each operation, -compared with those used previously for the same purposes, it offers reduced space and improved characteristics for mobility, transportation and packing.
