Composition for the treatment of plant diseases caused by fungi belonging to the genus Fusarium. These fungicidal compositions which are of use in agriculture and horticulture to solve the problem of diseases caused in plants by fungi of the genus Fusarium are characterised in that they contain some of the products represented by general formula I where X, Y, Z, R1, R2, R3, R3 may be any of the following radicals: H, OH, OCH3, Ar, Ar(OH)n or Ar(OCH3)n which are applied to the surface of the plant or the root system in a dose of 15-200 mg/L, but preferably between 30-75 mg/L, which does not rule out the possibility of using higher concentrations depending upon the nature of the pathogen or the variety of the plant being treated; likewise, compositions which are characterised in that they contain mixtures of two or more of these compounds in effective concentrations. These compositions may also contain a solid support or vehicle or conventional liquid and optionally, with the appropriate excipients, additional organic or inorganic fertilisers, insecticides, bactericides, herbicides or fertilisers. Preparation of the compounds of general formula I is characterised by the use of perinaphthenone as a starting material. IMAGE
