A new composition and method for treating types of depression, obsessiveness, depression with obsessiveness, depression with anxiety,mania, and manic depression, depression with seizures, and combinations of these illnesses is claimed comprising administering to a patientexhibiting said illness or illnesses a pharmacologically effective dose of an opioid antagonist, and a pharmacologically effective dose of atleast one drug compound selected from the group consisting of a tricyclic antidepressant, and a-typical antidepressant, and lithium. Thepatient may also, at the same time, be undergoing treatment with a benzodiazepine for anxiety.
