The present invention relates to the architecture andimplementation of real-time knowledge-based fuzzycontroller system for general purpose industrialapplications In another aspect the invention relates tothe development of an intelligent system which implementsfuzzy decision-making procedure which employs selectedmembership function values such that all signal valuespresent at the input to the fuzzy controller contribute tothe controller output at all times thereby simulatingdynamical system behavior. In yet another aspect, theinvention relates to the development of a fuzzy inferenceengine which implements an approximate reasoning methodbased on employing elected membership function values ofinput signals such that the number of rules which thecontroller fires is reduced. In this way the fuzzycontroller becomes fast and requires less memory than otherdesigns of fuzzy controllers.
