Disclosed is a method for the in-situ cleaning of a soil part which is polluted with halogenated products, in particular chlorinated products. The method at least co mprises the step of bringing in an electron donor in the soil part concerned under mainl y anaerobic conditions. The electron donor comprises compost and/or derivatives th ereof. Preferably, the electron donor is mainly derived from the first filtrate fractio n of compost. This first filtrate fraction comprises the liquid which is released dur ing the first 96 hours after start of composting.
