The invention relates to a ferrule container for accommodating multipleoptical fibers arranged in a ferrule, in addition to an assembly device forconnecting multiple optical fibers. The ferrule container is configured insuch a way that it can accommodate several multiple optical fibers (11, 12)arranged in ferrules (13, 14). The inventive container has a high packagingdensity since one single container is sufficient for connecting severalmultiple optical fibers. The inventive assembly device for connecting multipleoptical fibers comprises a board housing (4) with a first ferrule (13) andlead-through housing (2) with a second ferrule (56). Said housings can beinterconnected to a carrier plate in such a way that the board issubstantially staggered in relation to the carrier plate without having anegative effect upon the connection between the ferrule (13) on the board andthe ferrule (56) on the carrier plate.
