Method for determining the suitability for physical treatment of sediments, sediment suspensions and cohesive soils

Known methods for determining the physical properties of sediments, sediment suspensions and cohesive soils do not permit the drawing of reliable conclusions as to whether such substances are navigable or pumpable. The aim of the invention is to provide a simple physical method for determining whether such substances are suitable for physical treatment. To this end the viscosity for a defined force applied to the liquid is determined. The force applied is preferably varied over time in accordance with given values.
