The blood treatment device is formed from two outer plastics films (1,2) joined together and used to form two air tight half chambers of a balancing chamber (4) separated by a flexible wall (8). An inlet channel (17) connects the first half chamber to the first equalising chamber (5). A second inlet channel (15) joins the second half chamber to the second equalising chamber (6). Outlet channels (18,16) are connected to the half chambers. All channels can be clamped and in the area where they are clamped the tubes are formed from deformable plastics tubes (19) which are joined in an air tight manner to the outer films.
