A radiation intensifying paper comprising a support, a phosphor layer disposed on the support, and a protective film disposed on the phosphor layer, wherein the phosphor layer is composed of a first phosphor layer formed on the support side and comprises first phosphor particles having a mean particle diameter D1 and a range coefficient k, which represents a particle diameter distribution, within the range of 1.3 to 1.8, and a second phosphor layer which is formed on the protective film side and comprises second phosphor particles having a mean particle diameter D2 (⊃D1) and a range coefficient k, which represents the particle diameter distribution, within the range of 1.5 to 2.0. The ratio (CW1:CW2) of a coating weight C1 of the phosphor particles in the first phosphor layer per unit area to the coating weight CW2 of the phosphor particles in the second phosphor layer per unit area is within the range of 8:2 to 6:4. This radiation intensifying paper can improve granularity while restricting the drop of sensitivity and sharpness even when a phosphor having a high light emission efficiency is used, for example.
