The element consists of two identical discs (3a), each with an elastically-deformable fixing element (3f), a countersunk hole (3d) and a cylindrical recess (3e) lying perpendicular to the hole's axis for the fixing rod. Each disc also has a flat thrust surface (3b) and a rounded outer surface (3c). Each elastically deformable fixing element is in the form of a cylindrical pin (3f) fixed to one disc and engaging with a hole (3j) in the opposite one to hold the discs together before they are finally fixed, e.g. with a nut on the end of the pedicular screw shank. Each pin (3f) has a conical tip with a collar and a lengthwise slot which allows it to be deformed to fit into the hole in the opposite disc. IMAGE
