Cable termination for a high current multi-conductor cable for DC applications

The cable head (1) has the ends (22) of the filaments of the multi-filament cable conductors (24) fitted into bores of a cable shoe (3) and fixed in place by radial compression and deformation of the bores. The latter lie along concentric circles (TK,TK1) with the bores along one circle aligned with the spaces between the bores along the other circle. Cooling water channels (18) are provided between the bores (15) in the outer circle (TK), with a depth which brings them into the vicinity of the bores (16) in the inner circle (TK1). The cooling channels are coupled to a central cooling water channel (8) in the cable head.
