Utilisation of X-ray-amorphous oxids for increasing the light protectionfactor and/or the UV-protection of cosmetic or dermatologie light protection agents

The light protection factor of cosmetic sun screen preparations containing conventional UV filter substances is improved by the incorporation of an X-ray opaque oxide pigment. Use of X-ray opaque oxide pigments to raise the light protection factor of cosmetic or dermatological preparations which contain at least one conventional UV filter substance (I) is claimed. Independent claims are included covering cosmetic and dermatological preparations containing at least one X-ray opaque oxide pigment and at least one UV filter substance.
