Isolated and purified fungus of the genus Glomus that has formed an arbuscular mycorrhizal network with the metallophytes Viola calaminaria or V. guestphalica. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) spores produced by the new fungus; and (b) remediation for agriculture of contaminated soil using the new fungus, or its spores, that have formed a mycorrhizal association with a metallophyte.
