The present invention relates to a ginsenoside Mc which is an enterobacterial metabolite of ginseng saponin having the following structural formula and an anticancer agent containing the same as an active ingredient.;In addition to the novel compound, the present invention contains one of Compound K, Compound Y, or 20 (S) -protopanaxatriol, which is an enterobacterial metabolite of ginseng saponin, as an active ingredient and at least one pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The agent of the present invention is useful as a new type of anticancer agent in which anticancer activity is expected by enhancing immunity and inhibiting tumor angiogenesis and cancer cell invasion.
